The Vedas

The Vedas are supposed to be the eldest body of knowledge. They contain the very first divine religious revelations given to mankind. They are also called Shrutis which means: „That which has been heard". „Rishis“ (seers, prophets) had heard this knowledge and had passed it on from mouth to ear until it was fixed in written form. The term Vedas originates from the Sanskrit-root „vid“ and means knowledge. The Vedas have been handed on and written down in Sanskrit. Pieces of wisdom from the Vedas found their way into all civilizations. Since creation many ages have passed and continents have been divided due to extensive changes on the planet. Mankind was scattered here and there on the parts of the earth. Sanskrit and the Vedas are the common heritage of the entire mankind. The Vedas shed light on every aspect of creation. They describe different forms of energies and also mention a way for the harmonious interaction of these energies. Peace and wellbeing on earth are the aims. The Vedas show us the way how to become free from misery and poverty and how to realize one's own self. The Vedas contain far-reaching secrets concerning all processes of the entire cosmos.

Amongst other things the Vedas deal with different branches of science like history of mankind, knowledge about evolution, climate technology, biology, bio-genetics, physics, medicine (Ayurveda), astronomy, astrology, the different ways to realization, the knowledge about Yoga as well as knowledge from the elementary sphere and much more.

The Vedas are divided into four large books: Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda and Atharva Veda.

The perfect order revealing itself in human organisms and everywhere in the universe is based on regularities which have been object of modern scientific research for more than 150 years. The fundamental examinations of the ancient literature have led to the discovery that the regularities structuring the human mind and body are the same which lend structure to the Vedic syllables, verses, chapters and books. All components, organs and organic systems of the human body, but mainly the different parts of the nervous system – according to their specification – exactly correspond to the 27 branches of Vedic literature as well in structure as in function. The divine revelation of the Vedas is manifested in human life on earth. Who lives according to these principles, creates harmony, welfare and peace.

The Vedic science of vibrations offers a plenitude of impulses how to influence mind and vital energy (prana) with the help of fire-techniques and mantras. Specific combinations of words have particular effects on the atmosphere which themselves cause effects on mind and prana. Recitation of specific mantras in combination with proceedings of cleansing by means of Vedic fire- techniques, called Homa, has a positive effect on the mind.

The Vedas tell us about three worlds – Triloka – called Bhuu, Bhuwah and Swah. "Bhuu" means our planet earth, "Bhuwah" relates to the atmosphere and "Swah" relates to the world above. The causes of all material desires are to be found within these three areas (Trilokas). The Vedas name a method how to purify the Trilokas which leads to common peace and wellbeing. This method is called "yajnya" (further spellings for example yadnya or yagna; i.e. Vedic fire technique). The Vedas state that the purification of the Trilokas bears a direct relation to human happiness. Bliss or feeling happy is a state of mind, which is the more complete the more the mind is free from tensions that lead to restlessness.

The essence of the Vedas is the Fivefold Path which represents the eternal principles of religion- Satya Dharma. Fivefold Path includes techniques and disciplines which are suitable to master all difficulties men have to face during their lifetime.
