Initiator and project leader of the Homa-Hof Heiligenberg

Horst Heigl was born in Berlin in 1936 (name of birth Horst Lozynski; by marriage Horst Heigl since 1990). He started his professional career after an apprenticeship as a technical drawer in the Volkswagen works at Braunschweig. At a state technical night school he obtained the degree of a technical engineer after 7 semesters of studies. Since October 1956 he worked as a designing engineer for precision parts (camera construction) with the firm of Francke & Heidecke in Braunschweig; from January 1958 as a designing engineer for tools (component drawing of tool parts). In 1960 he moved to the Lake of Constance, to Friedrichshafen. This was connected with a job as a designing engineer in mechanical engineering with Porsche-Diesel. Another change of job came in August 1963, this time to the Mercedes-Benz company Friedrichshafen, the later called “mtu”.

At the beginning of the 1970s, several travels led him to India in search of spiritual masters. From Yogananda’s successor Swami Hariharananda, he obtained a personal initiation into Kriya Yoga and meditation techniques. After renouncing a secure professional career, he dared to work independently as probably one of the first full-time yoga teachers in Europe. For twenty years, he taught as a consultant for adult education centres in South Germany, thereby enabling thousands of interested persons to gain access to Hatha Yoga and later to meditation, regardless of their financial situation.

37 excursion trips took Horst Heigl to India, some more to Egypt, Nepal, USA and other countries; frequent stays on Sardinia.

He went through nearly all stages of meditation, was given fascinating experiences and visions, thereby realizing that the highest state of consciousness which can be achieved by meditation does not yet mark the end of the human path of spiritual evolution. It is rather the work on one’s own ego, “the little self” that – even beyond this life – will eventually take us closer to the light.

Through his thorough experience and his profound knowledge, Horst Heigl offers great help to all seekers. He is the spiritual leader at the Homa-Hof Heiligenberg, which was founded in 1988. He donates himself to the people with love, patience and enormous efforts, and once and again gives hints and help for everyday practice. So all the members at the Homa-Hof try to do all their daily work for God and to adjust their consciousness always towards the divine light above. Amongst many other things, he teaches us the usage of the four elements. With his help, he is able to lead us on with our spiritual development.

As a writer and composer, Horst Heigl has published 13 books (tales, illustrated volumes, nonfiction books, pictorials) and 9 music CDs with interpretations of music pieces and compositions of his own. Everybody with a subtle perception will notice the high vibrations emanating from this music. Horst Heigl comments on this: “When music lifts the soul, temporarily frees it from earthly encumbrance, it has the effect of a healing balm.”

Together with his wife Birgitt, Horst Heigl lives at the Homa-Hof Heiligenberg where he can be contacted via an inquiry at the Homa-Hof.

For decades, Horst Heigl has given free practical, psychological and spiritual help from his profound knowledge and experience to the Homa-Hof members.

Horst was the first German to whom Shree Vasant Paranjpe (he has published Agnihotra around the planet) came in 1974 and introduced him to Agnihotra. Many people who became interested in the performance of Vedic fire techniques in order to reduce pollution have started to practice these fire techniques in the Lake Constance area and other places since then. At the Homa-Hof Heiligenberg, which was brought into being by suggestion of Vasant and through Horst Heigl’s initiative, the knowledge in the agricultural sector is applied and made accessible to the public.
